GET TO KNOW NANO CRYSTAL BATTERIES™

The NCTB is a rechargeable battery based on the Lithium-Ion (li-ion) battery technology.  By replacing the graphite in the anode the titanate forms the material into a spinal 3D structure. With a nominal cell voltage of 2.4v, it releases a high current discharge current that is 10 times the capacity of the other types of lithium batteries. Instead of using carbon particles on its surface the NCTB utilizes titanate nanocrystals.

STRUCTURE

Nano-Crystal batteries use high quality materials to assemble battery packs that are extremely safe, require no maintenance, deliver a longer lifetime, are lighter than lead based batteries and have improved charge and discharge capabilities.

CHEMISTRY

Surface area of the anode is about 100 sq meters per gram. Resulting in much faster recharging and greater lifetimes of the battery. The recharge efficiency exceeds 98% and charge times can be between six and ten minutes at 10C continuous rate.

MAINTENANCE

Nano-Crystal NCTB batteries don’t require active maintenance to extend their service life. There are no memory effects and low self-discharge equals longer shelf life. Due to the NCTB low-temperature discharge characteristics it is able to obtain up to 80% of its full capacity at -30°C.

SAFETY

Lower operating voltage with safety advantages. NCTB batteries are entirely free of carbon, they avoid thermal runaway or overheating which is a main cause of fires in traditional energy storage systems. NCTB batteries are resistant to mechanical abuse without the risk of fires or explosions.

With an increasing importance of renewable energy solutions, the utilization of NCTB batteries for use in solar, wind, battery storage and grid scale power applications will greatly contribute towards power system stabilization.
